{"id":1046,"date":"2002-05-22T17:10:00","date_gmt":"2002-05-22T21:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.meehawl.com\/Blogfiles-wp\/?p=1046"},"modified":"2002-05-22T17:10:00","modified_gmt":"2002-05-22T21:10:00","slug":"conspiracy-a-go-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meehawl.com\/Blogfiles\/2002\/05\/22\/17\/10\/conspiracy-a-go-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Conspiracy A Go-Go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With all the conspiracy talk currently doing the rounds concerning whether or not individuals or a group within the Bush Gang knew or had definite indications of 9\/11 but failed to act on (for whatever reasons) it&#8217;s worth considering that in the recent past <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/sections\/us\/DailyNews\/jointchiefs_010501.html\">renegade elements within the US military <\/a><a href=\"..\/Webstore\/Cuba\/Friendly%20Fire.html\">have planned similar attacks on US cities and civilians<\/a> in order to generate a patriotic response.<\/p>\n<p>ABC News carried this scary story a while back about how in the early 1960s the Pentagon&#8217;s Joint Chiefs of Staff concocted a plan to force the US into full-scale war with Cuba. They would start with assassinations of Cuban exiles, proceed through the destruction of US and Cuban military assets by &#8220;terrorists&#8221;, and if that didn&#8217;t work, blowing up some shit in US cities.<\/p>\n<p>Now, this is not idle speculation, but national security documents released after 40 years. Having signed off on this loony plan, the JCS presented the plan to Kennedy&#8217;s defence secretary, Robert McNamara, in 1962.
