I&#8217;m glad I got that cleared up for me &#8212; even if there&#8217;s still <a href=\"..\/Webstore\/Iraq%20War\/Did%20Saddam%20Hussein%20Gas%20His%20Own%20People.html\">lingering doubts as to the historical veracity<\/a> of the US claims of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commondreams.org\/views03\/0131-08.htm\">poison gas attacks against the Kurdish separatists<\/a> (in fact, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2003\/01\/31\/opinion\/31PELL.html?pagewanted=print&#038;position=top\">initial reports stated that the gas was of Iranian origin<\/a>). I note the Russians used a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=BZ.gas+cia\">poison gas that was developed by the US<\/a> and rained down on villagers during the Vietnam War. A CIA memo in 1970 shows how excited they were by this new toxic agent:<br \/>\n<i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfbg.com\/reality\/22.html\">Trends in modern police action and warfare indicate the desire to incapacitate reversibly and demoralize, rather than kill, the enemy. . . .
