To prepare a placenta, cut the meat away from the membranes with a sharp knife. Discard the membranes.<\/p>\n<h4>Roast Placenta<\/h4>\n<p>1-3lb fresh placenta (must be no more than 3 days old)<br \/>\n1 onion<br \/>\n1 green or red pepper (green will add colour)<br \/>\n1 cup tomato sauce<br \/>\n1 sleeve saltine crackers<br \/>\n1 tspn bay leaves<br \/>\n1 tspn black pepper<br \/>\n1 tspn white pepper<br \/>\n1 clove garlic (roasted and minced)<\/p>\n<p><b>Method<\/b><br \/>\n(Preheat oven to 350 degrees)<br \/>\nChop the onion and the pepper &#038; crush the saltines into crumbs.<br \/>\nCombine the placenta, onion, pepper, saltines, bay leaves, white and black pepper, garlic and tomato sauce.<br \/>\nPlace in a loaf pan, cover then bake for one and a half hours, occasionally pouring off excess liquid.<br \/>\nServe and enjoy!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Work on the basis that each placenta weighs approximately 1\/6 of the baby&#8217;s weight.
