Michigan, then Ohio, then San Francisco, then a big chunk in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tags\/kauai\/clusters\/\">gorgeous<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kauai\">Kauai<\/a>, where I spent a lot of time swimming with the fishes. Went for a thrilling helicopter ride, where I kept hearing <span style=\"font-style:italic;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?hl=en&#038;q=%22Ride+of+the+Valkyries%22\">Ride of the Valkyries<\/a><\/span> in my head for some reason.<\/p>\n<p>I did spot a new fish I hadn&#8217;t seen before: <span style=\"font-style:italic;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fishbase.org\/Summary\/SpeciesSummary.php?id=7827\">Coris flavovittata<\/a><\/span> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?hl=en&#038;q=%22Yellowstripe+coris%22\">Yellowstripe Coris<\/a>), a juvenile female elongated &#8220;slender <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?num=100&#038;hl=en&#038;lr=lang_en&#038;safe=off&#038;c2coff=1&#038;q=wrasses&#038;btnG=Search\">wrasse<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coralreefnetwork.com\/stender\/fishes\/wrasses\/elongate.htm\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.meehawl.com\/Asset\/SlenderWrasse.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Delicious &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fishbase.org\/Summary\/SpeciesSummary.cfm?ID=7827&#038;genusname=Coris&#038;speciesname=flavovittata\">Eaten raw, dried and salted, baked or broiled<\/a>&#8220;, apparently.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just back from a mammoth holiday.
