John Edwards did one of his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skepticism.net\/articles\/2001\/000012.html\"><i>I<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zealot.com\/reviews\/archives\/crossingover.php3\">See<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skepdic.com\/coldread.html\">Dead<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skeptic.com\/newsworthy13.html\">People<\/i><\/a> schtick with relatives of people who died on 9\/11. This would have been a classic tasteless TV, but was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A53372-2001Oct25.html\">canned at the last minute<\/a>. What a shame.<\/p>\n<p>What Edwards does is up close and personal exploitation of people&#8217;s grieving and fears about death. And for this he is rightly pilloried. But isn&#8217;t it just a degree or two away from what priests and other witchdoctors do when they keep themselves employed by relating events and tragedies to goings on in their magical <a href=\"http:\/\/www.novelguide.com\/animalfarm\/characterprofiles.html\">Sugarcandy Mountain<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>All praise the Sky God! Or the Earth God. Or the ones that live in water, or trees, or maybe Graceland?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Plastic has this story on how Noted TV Psychic (!)
