Had a hunch, ran some iron studies on a patient with some atypical psychotic features<\/a> (and smearing poop everywhere!) They are positive for iron overload… hemochromatosis<\/a>. Now my plan to order leeches (stat!) to bleed them has been shot down. Something about seeing a patient with fat leeches hanging off their body being disturbing to other patients on the psych ward.
