So Brenna has started trying to count up as high as she can go and progressed from a couple of weeks ago naming “one hundred… two hundred” etc to variations on a thousand and then on to tonight’s variations on a million. We were explaining “billion” and “quadrillion” to her, then “googol”. She was quite into imagining how long a number line would be if you just kept kept counting up “forever and ever and ever”. That led naturally to a discussion of the difference between “infinity” and the cardinality of the sets of Natural and Real numbers.
