In 1988 for a school project, I made a Hypercard<\/a> (“Inspired by a mind-expanding LSD journey in 1985<\/a>“) stack summarizing hardware sales and costs in every Byte Magazine<\/a> that had been released to that date (Library had a complete run). How I wish I still had that stack! Fantastic early magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually, now remembering, I made the stack to impress my girlfriend. We’d met on Usenet<\/a> and courted over Unix “talk<\/a>“screen messaging. Together, we were learning the new Ansi C<\/a> from the updated K&R boo<\/a>k, dissing X.500, and playing AD&D<\/a> and the Paranoia rpg<\/a>.
