Bush’s Terror Warrior Thomas White To Take The Fifth On Enron?

Way back in February I mentioned a small problem with Bush’s Army head: he’s an ex-Enron exec. Thomas White, no man of inaction, had his copious old Enron-heavy bio (where he extolled the virtues of being on Enron’s Executive Committee) rapidly edited to reduce White’s Enron involvement to barely a mention.

Anyway, now he’s due to testify to the Senate concerning Enron’s illegal actions. The spectacle of one of Bush’s Terror Warriors taking the Fifth is already agitating the minds of some people, but White says he plans to testify without pleading self-incrimination.

Considering that he cashed out with $31m just before Enron went bust, and that his unit was responsible for illegally hiking energy prices in California during the summer of 2000 and 2001, not taking the Fifth would seem a little brave for him. White has already offered to resign at least once before, I’m thinking he could just quit before he goes down in flames, but he’ll probablu just bareface his way through it like most of the Bush people.
