As if further proof was needed that Petaluma, California, is the epicentre of all weirdness in California, I note in passing that the suspect in the JonBenét Ramsey murder, John Mark Karr, worked in Petaluma as a substitute teacher.
For a time he did have a teaching license in California. Karr was hired as a substitute teacher in Petaluma City elementary schools on Dec. 8, 2000. Karr was terminated April 2, 2001, said Steve Bolman, the school district’s deputy superintendent of business administration. There is no record of why he was terminated. But that same month, he was arrested in Sonoma County, Calif., and charged with five counts of possession of child pornography.
