Hasty Laws Are Dodgy Laws

Just how bad is this new PATRIOT Act? It strips US citizens of protection against unreasonable search and seizure, and was so dodgy that the Bush Gang refused to distribute it in advance to members of Congress before they voted on it. So the US Congress voted blind. Now that is scary and weirdly redolent of something you’d hear about in the old Soviet Empire. I think this PATRIOT Act thingy will eventually be struck down by the Supreme Court, but it’s going to take a few years
