Emergency Pimple Care

One of the reasons why US healthcare costs are so ridiculously high for such middling outcomes are because so many people have such poor access to primary care, they remain unsure of what constitutes “an emergency” and visit their local (expensive) emergency departments for stuff like this:
ASSESSMENT Sat Nov 03, 2012 08:48: PT CONCERN ABOUT BLEEDING TO A PUNCTURE WOUND BELOW THE L EYE; PT STATES, POPPED A PIMPLE; NO BLEEDING NOTED AT TRIAGE;, Airway: clear, Breathing: non-labored, Circulation: adequate, Capillary refill: less than 2 seconds, Skin color is: normal

(Can you tell I am on ED psych call?)
