Myths During Wartime
In wartime there’s nothing a country needs more for morale than heroes. The conventional thinking is that Flight 93, the Al Qaeda-hijackied airliner that crashed in a field in Philadelphia, was brought down by a struggle between passengers and hijackers. The plane’s black boxes could confirm this. So why have they not been released? Why do some witnesses maintain they saw a jet flying nearby? Why did the last call from the plane mention an explosion ripping it apart? The USAF assures people that it was not shot down by military aircraft. But this kind of obvious cover up only fuels Mulder-like conspiracies.
