If this Mullah Omar is lame and half-blind and kinda weak, how did he do a Steve McQueen and escape the Pentagon’s might on a motorbike?!?!? Could it be that local Afghan warlords are yanking the Pentagon’s chain? This is how it all started to go badly for the Russians — they rolled in and captured the entire country easily, with barely a shot, within three months. Then it all started to wrong to for them, bit by terrible bit. There are no strict allies and enemies in Afghanistan, just dozens of warring factions that change sides the moment they see which way the wind is blowing.
