War Is Too Important To Be Left To The Generals

So the LA Times has this story, that Bush the Second wants to use nukes. Obviously, none of these people have watched enough Dr Strangelove.

The New York Times has this, and the BBC this. Meanwhile, the Pentagon is trying to weasel out of it, saying it was only a what-if scenario. This is from the same bunch of people that cheerfully suggested poisoning the Afghan food supply.

Then again, the US is the only country ever to have used nukes in anger.
