Bush Snubs Mandela

Every time I think that King Bush has finally demonstrated a baseline level of stupidity, along comes some other news snippet. According to this one, Bush was avoiding Nelson Mandela, refusing to take his calls. So Mandela called Dubya’s Dad, Bush Snr, to complain.

What kind of chump refuses to at least speak to one of the most famous peacemakers on the planet? Someone who managed to transform his country from a slave state into a democracy with minimal disruption, thanks mostly to his moral leadership. Mandela’s negotiation and rapprochment with his apartheid jailers should be an example to notably war-crazed politicians in similar situations, such as Sharon and Arafat. He led his country through troubled times to peace, they are leading their country instead into interminable strife. Anyway, Bush probably heard Mandela was, like, one of those damn Commies or something. It’s yet another demonstration that Bush is a dangerously cocky boob who thinks he knows better than anyone else. These kind of people are very dangerous, especially when they have all the best-armed toys to play with.
