So I noticed this comment from an earlier story about female sexual predators:
Thank you for posting this on your website. I am Richard Pena’s oldest sister and I appreciate the way you portrayed his story. Life has not been easy with all the media coverage since his dissapearance. We are trying to get back to normal…if such a thing exists. You are right however, about the way society sees the female predator. He really was just a really nice, down-to-earth kid who was just begining to experience the world. She, as a woman and teacher, took everything my parents have done in order to raise him properly, and basically spit on it. She drank alcohol with him, had unprotected premarital sex while she herself was still a married woman, and taught him to lie and to be deceitful. Despite the fear, the lack of sleep, and the worry she caused our entire family for the four days he was missing, she gave a child the life of an adult, a partying irresponsible adult, and now expects him to simply go on and have a normal teenage life thereafter. I appreciate what you have done, I really do, so thank you.
Meanwhile, I note that yet another study has shown that boys who were abused by adult women are three times more likely to develop into adults abusers themselves than a control group.
