So it turns out that after careful analysis, some of the “evidence” supplied by the US and the UK that Iraq has been pursuing a nuclear program is fake. Did the CIA forge them, and badly? It seems even below their usual level, and also contradicts their own intelligence estimates of Iraq’s nuclear program, now presumed by most to have been in stasis since 1991. There seems to be an Italian, or possibly Romanian, conduit for these documents, and I suspect some Middle Eastern influence: either Chalabi or elements within Israel. Couple these with the “authoritative” UK report written 12 years ago by a student, and I begin to wonder how much else of what they say is crap. It seems that only the criminally mendacious ineptitude of the Bush Gang can make a murderous thug like Saddam look good. He should hire them as his full-time PR.
