Two men, one Christian and the other Muslim, commit murder just one day apart in the United States. Both appear to have been motivated by their religious beliefs. The Christian murderer is Scott Roeder and his victim is Dr. George Tiller, a physician from Wichita, KS who performed late term abortions. The Muslim murderer is Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad and his victims are Pvt. William Long and Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula who were new U.S. Army recruiters … The Muslim murder suspect, Mr. Muhammad, is charged with terrorism along with first degree murder … the Christian murder suspect, Mr. Roeder, is not being charged with terrorism.

And of course, since this article was written, another Christian Terrorist (the acceptable term is “White Supremacist“) decided to go spree killing at a Holocaust memorial. Being out of power really seems to prompt the extremists to take extreme, direct action. Brand new, we’re retro.

Started hematology today in school at 8am. By 8:15 I was already wondering, hoping really, that it was all just a very vivid dream. I like vampire movies and hungry sky gods that demand blood sacrifices as much as the next person, the blood is the life and all that, but endless pictures of indistinguishable little blood cells is a poor way to start a Monday morning after several blissful months of not really having to deal with any of this stuff at all. Eosinophils, basophils and neutrophils, oh my. On the plus side, I can now feel a small, deep satisfaction at being slightly less clueless than 134 first year medical students that started today.

A man, woman and two teenage children apparently shared a house in Necedah Township, Wisconsin with a corpse for two months before authorities found the body. At least one of the adults in the house insisted the dead woman inside wasn’t “fully dead,” and that they could pray her back to life … [Police] found Middlesworth’s remains in a heap on what appeared to be a toilet. Police reports indicate the smell of decay was “overpowering” … Police say Lewis then refused to talk to them without her “superior.” That turned up out to be Alan Bushey, who police say also goes by “Bishop John Peter Bushey.” After Bushey arrived, Lewis told deputies that Middlesworth passed out a couple of months prior, and that Lewis had propped her up on the toilet. She then claimed “Bishop Bushey” told her that God would raise Middlesworth from the dead, and that Lewis and her children prayed for days in hopes of that happening. Police also interviewed the teenagers, who told them Bushey convinced them to be quiet about the body. They say Bushey told them demons were making it appear that Middlesworth was dead, and that if her death was discovered, the children would be sent to public school and be forced to get jobs.
