My New Friend

I made a new friend at the Tenderloin street theatre festival a couple of weeks ago!

It was kind of neat – I went with Lisa whose finely honed dramatic instincts were distinctly not amused by some of rather lame theatre of the absurd on show. Sometimes it was indeed kind of difficult to see who was there to perform and who just a regular ‘Loin crazy out parting for the day. I was particularly impressed by the guy who was using all of his body parts to make some bizarro syncopated rhythm.

It provoked curious feelings as well, to see some of the troupes use Situationist-style confrontational or aggressive methods so soon after the WTC outrage. Feelings similar to gluttony, or over-indulgence. I felt hyper-sensationalized to the point of illness.

But one good thing was communicated to me by a pack of bright pink dancing TS genderfucked corpse-like ballerinas:

Why was it necessary for the cops to pump 18 bullets into the body of that only slightly deranged guy who was smoking in the Metreon cinema multiplex a while back?
