Head End

Just like movie companies get upset at the idea that more than one person can watch a video tape — perhaps even, shock horror, an entire family — and pay the same amount, so cable companies hate the idea that people can simply use NAT to share their connection between multiple machines… sometimes even machines in another house, or in another county. So they are trying to come up with a method to snoop into people’s houses to see what kind of network configuration they have. Typical. These are the same greedy companies that throttle uploads to 128Kb, and disallow servers.
