Bush Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

Here’s another right-wing piece, this time by William Safire, noting Russia’s final victory in Afghanistan after 20 years of war. I think War-Crazy Rumsfeld and Bush are drifting into trouble when more and more conservative columnists are attacking them for “being soft” on Russia. There’s a certain crazy logic in watching the right-wing fall on itself, possibly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory… much like his father Bush Snr before him.
