Athropocene

At the end of the last glaciation, the ice sheets that covered much of the Northern Hemisphere disappeared in a matter of a few thousand yearsa surprisingly short time, considering how long it had taken them to build up. At one point, about fourteen thousand years ago, they were melting so fast that sea levels were rising at the rate of more than a foot a decade.

Given that we are now warming the oceans several dozen times faster than the peak of the last interglacial, I won’t be buying any beachfront property anytime soon.
