So when a nurse calls you for a patient request and begins with “It’s about the Dilaudid” you generally expect the conversation to go one way. I was therefore so surprised that a patient was requesting a *reduction* in their Dilaudid dosage that I had to ask them to repeat it – twice. That nurse thinks I’m either deaf or dumb, or possibly both.
